AIDS Cure Found in Dolphin Livers

The title of this post is the phrase Kim uses to describe competing special interest groups, and the apoplexy it causes when they collide.

(And for anyone who is irony-challenged, it is a JOKE, not a reality.)

So is the situation with the auto-industry:  If the Democrats allow the auto-industry to file bankruptcy, they’re throwing the unions under the bus.  If they allow (as the Bush Administration has suggested), the $25 Billion already earmarked for the auto-industry, to be used as a bail-out, rather than to assist them in meeting their environmental targets, it throws the environmentalists under the bus.  If they pass another bail-out bill, for another $25 Billion, The People will be pissed off (because The People are smart enough to recognize that it will have no benefit, other than as an exercise in wasting money).  The latter would also advertise that the Congress is/was the one who created the mess, and they’d rather not have that on record.

(I am always tickled about the environmental targets put on the auto industry.  If the laws of physics are not a restriction or factor of the requirements, why don’t we just make the targets something we’d all prefer, such as cars that operate on magic, rather than any fuel or emissions?  Let’s give them more money… then, surely, they can make the magical targets.)

It is to laugh.
